Women's Soccer: The Huskies played their third straight overtime contest Sunday afternoon, tying with the Cincinnati Bearcats 2-2. The Huskies were down 2-0 at one point but overcame the deficit and came out with the draw. The Huskies are now 4-4-2 on the season and 1-1-2 in Big East play. Next up they will travel to Notre Dame in a rematch of the Big East Tournament game from last year. That game will be on Friday, September 30th, on ESPNU at 7:30. It is first (and to date, only) time an Olympics Sports team is scheduled to be on TV this year. After that, the Huskies will face DePaul on Sunday, October 2 at 2:00 PM. Streaming for that contest is available on the DePaul athletic website.

Women's Volleyball: The Huskies were swept by the Louisville Cardinals, 3-0. Two sweeps over opening weekend may look bad, but these are the two best teams in the conference. So, I'm not too concerned yet. Plus, the team isn't super good in the first place, so a .500 record and a Big East Tournament berth would be a good result. Next weekend, the Huskies will host Marquette on Saturday and Syracuse on Sunday, both at 2:00 PM. Both teams hosted USF last weekend, with the Golden Eagles winning and the Orange losing.

Men's Soccer: The Huskies are expected to be #1 when the polls come out tomorrow. Their first defense will be against Yale at 7:30 tomorrow night at Morrone Stadium. The Bulldogs are a mere 4-3-1, but I could see this as a trap game for us. The next game is a huge showdown at Louisville, currently ranked #5 but likely to drop  in the polls due to a loss to Notre Dame. And they don't want to start 0-2 in the Big East. So it's going to be a tough game and we know it. So we're looking ahead to that game, and thinking about how if we can win there we are in great shape for the rest of the season and could even go undefeated. But we aren't at Louisville yet. We have to get past Yale. And we nearly got complacent at BU looking ahead to BC. We did get trapped by Brown last year in the NCAA Tournament. I hope it doesn't happen now, but I could certainly see us drawing, or even losing. (If this were the tournament, I'd be guessing "UConn eliminated on Penalty Kicks" would be a likely possibility). For now though, just hope for the best. And as for that Louisville game, it's at Noon in Kentucky. There does not appear to be All-Access. I'm not sure if WHUS is covering it, though I doubt it, particularly since they have confirmed their coverage of the Western Michigan at 3:30 PM that day. They haven't posted their schedule beyond September 27th, though. GameTracker will definitely be up though.

Tennis (both sexes): The men and women competed at the West Point Invitational this weekend. The men went 20-6 overall and the women won the consolation fight. See those articles for more info.

Men's Ice Hockey: Cole Schneider was featured on Insider College Hockey.  This earned him a press release from UConn.

Field Hockey: Rankings come out tomorrow. UConn at #4 is unlikely to change. The Huskies host UMass Wednesday Night at 7:30. And for the second weekend a row, two Huskies teams will play Louisville. The Field Hockey Huskies host the Cardinals at noon. That will be on All-Access. It seems like we play the same school in multiple sports at the same week or two very often. It can't all be a coincidence....

Softball: Just a reminder to those who are interested but my last blurb, the 2012 schedule is up. I will not write about it until a press release confirms it is official.
