What: Men's Basketball vs. Syracuse
When: Wednesday, February 2, 2011, 7:00 PM
Where: XL Center
Result: Loss 66-58
Well, this game was a disaster to say the least. After the hideous loss to Louisville, we needed a win. And in the first half we struggled to make shots. Somehow, we only trailed by one at halftime, 26-25, largely because the Orange had about six airballs. Terrible first half of basketball. At one point we lead by 9, 23-14, before Syracuse finally started knocking down shots.
Then the Orange got off to a run to start the second half. We really struggled throughout, and frankly did not deserve to win. The only thing uglier than the weather outside the arena was our play inside. That's how bad we were. And the crowd was not happy at all. Very poor showing by the Huskies. Oh well. There's always next game. We're 5-4 in the Big East and will need to play almost flawlessly from here on out to get a good seed in the tournament. Hopefully we can do that. But we'll see. What really matters is March Madness, which is a month and a half away.
For now, that's it. We may be back over the weekend with Men's and Women's Hockey. but as you know, that's still up in the air.
